About Cindy Collum

My name is Cindy Copus Collum. I am a front-end web developer from Dallas, Texas, I enjoy taking on different projects, and working across various teams to obtain the best outcome for project owners. I have been working as a freelance designer and corporate designer for the past thirteen years. My passion is web design, marketing, advertising, and helping others.

I graduated from the University of Texas / Dallas with a B.S. in Business, with an emphasis in MIS and immediately transitioned into freelancing. Because of the economic situation in 2009, I took a full-time position at a major travel company as a contractor. My duties: developing landing pages, email campaigns, and working on their CMS system. Currently, I code responsive emails and create imagery for various campaigns, including: email, landing pages and the home page.

A passion for web design

Web design is my passion because it gives me the opportunity to use my experience and talents to assist companies in marketing and selling their products. I enjoy the challenges it presents: to bring people together on a common ground to solve a problem that is equitable to all.

The outcome: offering consumers and businesses an engaging place to learn, share, buy/sell goods and services that might otherwise not be available to the general public. I enjoy the fact that I can code something, create the imagery and see it immediately. Then, it can be posted in three seconds, made available for anyone across the world to see and interact.

Instantaneous. Changing. Empowering.

What motivates:

An interesting problem to solve, the proper tools, good products, great ideas, and good people to work with on those projects. And of course, good coffee!

Seeking inspiration

I am a good researcher on the internet, old / new magazines, books, design and coding sites, some TV, and talking to people about their likes and dislikes.

  • Working math problems from my old textbooks, and reading textbooks — ok, I know it’s weird, I’ve be told so, but it is relaxing when I don’t want to turn my computer on, or drag my paints out, and besides it’s fun: the answers are in the back of the book, and best of all NO TEST will be given!

It’s pure joy!
